Welcome to the Maruia River Lodge (formerly the Moonlight Lodge), a luxury wilderness haven on the banks of the beautiful Maruia River. Here, you can relax in quality accommodation in a remote setting, perfect to unwind or as a base for fly-fishing and other adventurous outdoor pursuits.

Ideally located within one of the best fly-fishing areas in the South Island, this spectacular riverside retreat prides itself on providing modern comforts, fine food made from locally sourced ingredients and delicious New Zealand wines in a relaxed atmosphere.

Fly-fishing from Maruia River Lodge gives you access to the best rivers and streams in New Zealand combined with the perfect place to stay. The Maruia River Lodge is open for the fly-fishing season from the 1st of October until the 30th of April.
